Adam S. Getson
Mr. Getson joined Wapner, Newman, Wigrizer, Brecher & Miller, P.C. as an Associate in April 2004 and has always focused his practice in plaintiffs’ Civil Trial Litigation. In January 2014, Mr. Getson became the youngest Partner at Wapner Newman.
Over the years, Mr. Getson has successfully represented many injured victims in a variety of accidents, including automobile crashes, dog bites, product malfunctions, dram shop liability, slips/trips and falls, medical malpractice, construction site accidents and other personal injury matters. He has litigated hundreds of cases in counties throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
In 2000, Mr. Getson earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and was named to the National Deans List of America. In 2002, Mr. Getson studied International Law at Australia’s prestigious University of Technology Sydney Law School. He received his Juris Doctor from Widener School of Law in 2003, where he was a graduate of the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program.
Mr. Getson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (2003) and New Jersey (2003), as well as before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2004) and the District of New Jersey (2004.) He also serves as an Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and in private Alternative Dispute Resolutions.
Mr. Getson has been honored by Martindale-Hubbell as being rated “AV Preeminent”, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, for his ethical standards and legal ability. The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review analysis is based upon peer reviews from attorneys and the Judiciary.
From 2012 through 2018 Mr. Getson has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Thompson Legal. This award recognizes no more than 2.5% of the up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years old or younger who have demonstrated a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as a “Rising Stars” in the practice of Pennsylvania law.
From 2014 through 2018 Mr. Getson was recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Association as being one of the “The National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 100.” This recognition is extended solely to the select few of the most qualified attorneys from each state who demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and public profile.
Mr. Getson was recognized in the 2018 edition of Pennsylvania’s Best Lawyers published in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Central Penn Business Journal, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Wall Street Journal.
While at Wapner Newman, one of Mr. Getson’s many jury verdicts was published in Volume 26, Issue 4 of the Pennsylvania Jury Verdict Review & Analysis.
Mr. Getson is a proud member of the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Philadelphia (PA) and Burlington County (NJ) Bar Associations.
In his time away from the office, Mr. Getson has presented lectures in personal injury law; practicing the law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and, legal ethics to students and professionals. He is also an active volunteer for the Philadelphia Cares program and mentor to many students in the Philadelphia School District.

WNWBM Partner, Adam S. Getson, Esquire made a $500,000.00 recovery for his client in a rear end motor vehicle collision in a historically hard venue where defense counsel made a strong “MIST” (Minor Impact Soft Tissue) defense.
WNWBM Partner, Adam S. Getson, Esquire navigated a change to Products Liability law in a difficult venue to secure a $687,500.00 recovery.
At the time of the diagnosis of plaintiff’s colorectal cancer was the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. wherein African Americans were most at risk. WNWBM Partner, Adam S. Getson, Esquire argued that the plaintiff was not properly screened to diagnose and treat the early onset of the disease.
From the moment WNWBM Partner, Adam S. Getson, Esquire placed his client’s claims into litigation, he wanted to get every dollar that his client was eligible for, and he did. The defense argued that the cause of plaintiff’s injuries were not related to the motor vehicle collision, and that there was shared liability for the cause of the motor vehicle collision.
In January 2008, Adam Getson, an associate at Wapner, Newman, Wigrizer & Brecher, was able to obtain a jury verdict on behalf of a client who was injured by a negligent driver in November 2004. The trial lasted two days, and Attorney Getson was able to persuade a twelve-person, Philadelphia County jury that the plaintiff sustained injuries to her neck and back while in an uninsured vehicle operated by an uninsured negligent driver. This matter was presided over by The Honorable Judge Matthew D. Carrafiello. Attorney Getson’s client was awarded $31,500 for her injuries. The real success in this Trial was changing the way that Pennsylvania law looked at eligibility for benefits. Adam Getson, an Associate Attorney with the Philadelphia law firm of Wapner, Newman, Wigrizer & Brecher, has been asked by City Year of Greater Philadelphia to discuss with students at Kensington Creative and Performing Arts High School what it takes to become a lawyer. The talk, scheduled for April 30, 2008, will feature Attorney Getson’s thoughts about the process of becoming a lawyer, including passing the Pennsylvania Bar, and the ethical responsibilities of being a lawyer.
