Philadelphia Launches Free Emergency ID Program

Philadelphia and Allentown, Pennsylvania, New Jersey

Wed, 01/11/2012

If you’ve been watching TV lately, you may have seen commercials of Pennsylvania Mayor Michael Nutter promoting the ICEdot program to Philadelphia residents. This free emergency identification service launched on Monday, offering a potentially life-saving service to Philadelphians.

ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. The service is designed to give emergency responders quick access to important medical and personal information in case of a car accident. Motorists are supplied with a yellow sticker that should be attached to their cars’ rearview window. Responders will look for the sticker, which informs them that an emergency response profile is present in the car’s glove compartment.

If you are a Philadelphia resident, you can sign up for ICEdot by creating an emergency response profile at www.icedot.org, printing it out, and placing it in your glove compartment. The yellow sticker will arrive with January’s water bill. The sticker can also be placed on your front door, informing responders that your profile is located on your refrigerator.

If you or one of your loved ones suffered a serious injury in a car accident because of someone else’s negligence, please contact our experienced Philadelphia car accident attorneys today for a free case evaluation.
